In 1972, The Paper Chase was made into a movie starring John Houseman, Lindsay Wagner, and Timothy Bottoms.
The picture on the left is of the author, John Osborn, with the star of the movie, John Houseman, on the set of The Paper Chase, in Toronto Canada, where a Harvard Law Classroom had been meticulously recreated. A full complement of actual law students sat in this classroom. Several times, Osborn wrote classroom scenes on the spot, giving lines to Houseman and the students moments before the scene was shot. Houseman, a legendary Hollywood producer and then head of the Julliard School in New York City, was a perfect Kingsfield and won an Academy Award for his performance.
